Mavala is a Swiss cosmetics brand founded in 1959 and renowned worldwide for its expert nail polishes and hand care solutions. With a presence in over 100 countries, Mavala has built a legacy of quality and innovation. In 2024, the brand is taking a bold step forward with a refreshed identity and a strong move into the digital space — launching its very first e-commerce site dedicated to the French market.

Mavala embraced our strategic recommendation by choosing a fully custom theme for its new e-commerce platform. This bespoke approach allowed us to address complex product configurations—most notably, the extensive nail polish range available in dozens of shades—beyond the capabilities of a standard product page.

This project exemplifies our expertise in composable commerce, also known as headless e-commerce. By decoupling the front-end from the back-end, we built a flexible, modular architecture that empowers the brand to deliver scalable and high-performance digital experiences. The tech stack combines Shopify as the commerce engine, Sanity for headless content management, and Yotpo for user-generated content, reviews, and loyalty program integration—each selected for best-in-class functionality and seamless interoperability.
